FAQ
Common Questions
Do I need previous English experience?
No prior experience is required to start the Beginner level. However, this course is designed as a supplement to a standard English course - it's built to improve speaking and listening fluency, which traditional courses often skip.
Are the lessons self-paced?
Yes. Students can learn anytime at their own pace.
Are subtitles included?
Each dialogue includes the English transcript as well as transcripts in Spanish, Mandarin, & Arabic.
Can I access the course on mobile devices?
Yes. The course works on phones, tablets, and computers.
How long is each lesson?
Most video conversations are about 2 minutes in length. I have found that language is best learned through small chunks that eventually build up to more lengthy conversations. Each video is meant to have the ability to be combined with other videos that will eventually allow the student to converse with many topics for long periods of time. However, it is up to the student to continue to grow with the language just as a native speaker does through education and experience. Does a native speaker learn the complete language at 13 years old even though they have been listening, speaking, reading, & writing it most of that time?
